Mel House - Director

Mel House As "The Director"

Ever since he did a 3rd grade book report on Christine, Mel House knew that horror was to be his lot in life.  After a brief attempt at majoring in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas, Mel promptly changed his major to film and never looked back.  He quickly amassed a number of independent film credits in a variety of on-set positions, all the while working towards his own feature.  Mel's debut movie Fade To Black premiered at the Bare Bones Film Festival in 2001, where it won the Grand Jury Award. Since then, Mel has DP'ed the horror movie Drawing Blood, the documentary Electric Purgatory - the fate of the black rocker, and he returned to the director's chair with Witchcraft 13: Blood Of The Chosen, (garnering some of the best reviews for the long-running series).  Closet Space marks Mel's most ambitious project to date.... but he feels that it will soon be outstripped by Closet Space 2.  Mel still firmly believes that A Nightmare on Elm Street, Ringu, Dawn Of The Dead (original, duh), Oldboy, and Donnie Darko are among the greatest cinematic achievements of the last 30 years. In addition to doing all this movie stuff, Mel also plays guitar and sings in a loud rock band and reviews music for Space City Rock.

Jason Stewart & Thelonious Monk

Jason Stewart As "The Writer"

Jason claims that while the names have been changed in accordance with government classification policy, Closet Space is based on actual events he experienced. He lives in Southern California but hopes to earn the right to be an honory member of the Texas Horror community. He's busy writing Closet Space 2 and several other equally misogynistic tales, as well as working towards his Master's in Counseling and catering to the every whim of his loyal pug Thelonious Monk.

After recently discovering this thing called "MySpace", he predicts it will be big.

Chris PolidoroChris Polidoro

Chris began as every SFX artist began, making his parents and friends miserable by coating them and surrounding areas with blood and all things gory. Later landing a gig studying under SFX master Tom Savini on an independent film did all his Halloween and general knowledge of horror pay off. With ten features and an array of shorts, music video's, commercials, and general media presentations to date, his portfolio has nearly doubled and continues to grow.

Look for his work in Busch Garden Howl-O-Scream and films like Andre the Butcher, Unearthed, Closet Space, and a recent endevor with The Horror Channel

Derek GorsuchDerek Gorsuch

I have loved behind the scenes since I was 12, getting up every saturday morning to watch movie magic instead of cartoons. My life as an effects artist didnt really take off til i met Marcus Koch in 02 when all my gathered knowledge and undeveloped skills was put to use in making some guts and molds for Nikos. Since then I've built haunted houses for Busch Gardens, Sea World, hundreds of props for haunts across the country and Canada along with props for Disney on Ice and Ringling Brothers Circus. My talents lay in set design, construction, scenic art, stop motion animation, small animatronics and my fav mold making.

Marissa VisoMarissa Viso - First Asst. Camera

Marissa was born and raised in a little town of Edinburg, Texas. She realized her passion for acting in her early teens and came to the conclusion that it would happen in a bigger city. When she moved to Houston she quickly learned that there is so much more to film making than "lights, camera, action!". She loves working behind the camera as well as in front of it.

"I love the film making process. It's great to be around other people passionate about it as well. I am ecstatic to be a part of it."
